Lesson Plan Title : Finger painting Words
Age Range: Kindergarten through Grade 2 (Early Elementary or Primary Level)
Overview and Purpose : Be prepared for a messy good time, as students squish and slosh their way through the spelling word list!
Objective: The student will be able to finger paint his spelling words on a piece of paper.
Resources:
Finger paint
Finger paint paper
Activities:
Give each student some finger paint on their paper. Write the spelling word on the board and have them copy it in the paint. If they make a mistake, encourage them to smear it and start again. This activity can be done as a whole class or in a center with the words printed on laminated cards.
Closure:
This lesson could be done with many different mediums (i.e. pudding, cheese, whipped cream, jello, applesauce, etc.). It can be an activity and a snack in one! Check for food allergies before trying this variation, though.
