Overview and Purpose: St. Patrick's Day is celebrated in both Ireland and America. In this lesson, students use the Internet to research similarities and differences in the customs of both countries.
Objective: The student will be able to compare the way the St. Patrick's Day is celebrated in Ireland and in America.

Activities:
Discuss with your students some of the ways that St. Patrick's Day is celebrated in America. Ask if anyone is familiar with the way it is celebrated in Ireland. Explain that some of the celebrations are similar but many are different. Divide the class into pairs and have them use the Internet to help them complete the worksheet them.
