1. 12 Days of Christmas - Love = Cost?- This project is designed to be used as a warm-up activity during the 12 days preceding Christmas.
2. A Christmas in Poverty - The student will be able to compare their Christmas morning with the Christmas morning of a child who is very poor.
3. Average Temperature at the North Pole - This lesson has students graph the average temperature at the North Pole.
4. Candy Cane Art - The student will be able to create a picture entirely from candy cane shapes and markers.
5. Christmas around the World - Students are not often aware how Christmas is celebrated differently around the world. This project will allow students to study in-depth how other countries and cultures celebrate Christmas.
6. Christmas in America - The student will be able to create a timeline showing when major changes and additions have happened in our Christmas traditions.
7. Christmas in Sweden - Students will use the computer to explore Christmas in Sweden and apply what they have learned to answer questions.
8. Christmas is coming! - This lesson is basically for listening skills, but some oral, reading, and writing skills are integrated to the lesson.

14. Five Christmas Senses - This covers more than just language arts because the students are learning about their five senses as well.
15. History of the Mistletoe - The student will be able to explain why we have the Christmas traditions we do in America.
16. Living at the North Pole - The student will be able to write a descriptive paper telling how they would survive at the North Pole for a year.
17. Mapping Santa's Property - The student will be able to draw a map showing how they envision Santa's property to look.
18. Planning a Christmas Brunch - This is a fun math activity that most of the students will be able to relate to. They may not have planned a brunch before, but they have most likely eaten one.
19. Planning Santa's Route - Students will calculate distance and speed to plot the most efficient course for Santa to take on Christmas Eve.
20. Presents for Others Collage - The student will be able to create a collage based on what he thinks other people will want for Christmas.
21. Steps for Reindeer Care - How do you take care of a reindeer? In this lesson, students will research and write out the steps for the best way to take care of one.
22. Thank You Mr. Elf - In this writing activity, students practice writing thank you cards by sending one to Mr. Elf thanking him for all his hard work in making the toys.
23. The Grinch - The Prequel - The student will be able to write a narrative piece telling the story of the Grinch's early years.
24. The History of Christmas Trees - This lesson uses the theme of Christmas to develop students vocabulary.
25. Torn Paper Christmas Scene - The student will be able to tear paper and use it to create a Christmas scene.
26. United States Winter Celebrations - Research how different cultures in the United States celebrate winter holidays and how we are celebrate as a whole country.
27. What is missing From My Stocking? - The student will be able to name the object that is in one stocking but not the other.
28. Which Present is Bigger? - Students will use estimation and rulers to figure out which present is bigger.
29. Wrapping Paper Patterns - This activity allows students to create art using the patterns found on Christmas wrapping paper.

Christmas Lesson Plans From Other Sites

1. 12 Days of Christmas- This is a fun and creative way to explore "The 12 Days of Christmas." This lesson reinforces numerical order, repetition within a song, and group effort.
2. All I Want for Christmas- Students work in pairs to use real life interests to create a wish list from catalogues and sale ads based on a given budget.
3. Bah Humbug- After listening to Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch stole Christmas, students create a Venn diagram comparing and contrasting the two main characters.
4. Character and Choices: Dickens' A Christmas Carol- In this three week lesson, the teacher provides instruction in the basic elements of literature. By reading Dickens' novel students are provided the opportunity to understand how their choices can change their attitudes and behavior.
5. Christmas Shopping- Students will pretend to buy age/gender appropriate Christmas presents using a given budget for a specified number of people.
6. Feels Like Christmas, Exploring Touch- The sense of touch helps us learn about our world by feeling it and learning the size, texture, and shape of things. In this activity, students will classify four different sandpaper shapes by using only their sense of touch.
7. Give Me Five at Christmas Time- Students become aware of their senses by taking a walking field trip, creating a word bank, reading a story and singing a song. This is the first lesson in A Sensational Christmas unit that also includes a diagnostic assessment.
8. Looks Like Christmas, Exploring Sight- Students explore their sense of sight, learn about the eyes and how to keep them safe, and become familiar with how to help blind people become a part of their world.
9. Tastes Like Christmas, Exploring Taste- Taste helps us, among other things, to select and enjoy food. In this lesson, students learn about taste buds and the four familiar tastes.
10. The Christmas Tree, Just Where Did it Come From?- The Christmas tree is popular in most homes in the United States. We decorate our living and family rooms and outside in the yard, with trees.
11. The Whole World Celebrated Christmas! Right?- This lesson is for use during the weeks before the Christmas break. This will be great for middle school students. It is a comparison of the other religious holidays that are celebrated around this same time of year.
12. Why the Grinch Stole Christmas- Everyone knows How the Grinch stole Christmas, but no one seems to know why the Grinch stole Christmas. This lesson is a look at what might have given the Grinch the feelings that he had to steal Christmas from Who-ville.
